1AC Camera / Focuspuller in Thailand, Daily Rate:

6,000.00฿

1AC  (also called the 1st assistant camera, 1st AC, first AC, or focus puller) has one main job: they sit next to the camera during filming and operate the lens’s focusing ring. The role of the focus puller is to keep the right subject in focus throughout each scene. A focus puller is a member of the camera crew responsible for adjusting the focus of a film or video camera during a shot. The focus puller uses a follow-focus device, which allows them to precisely adjust the lens’s focus while filming.

1AC / focus puller’s responsibilities:

  • Pulling track pins into place for each take
  • Setting up the track pins in each take according to the director or producer’s specifications
  • Setting up shots according to the script or other instructions from producers, directors or cinematographers

Description

The first AC is also in charge of maintaining and organizing all camera equipment and accessories on set—cleaning camera lenses and setting up and taking down the camera each day, so that it’s ready for the next day of filming. Our focus puller can keep the actor in focus during multiple takes, even if the actor doesn’t move at quite the same speed each time.Focus pulling is one of the most important aspects of cinematography, especially in documentary filmmaking and news coverage. It is also an essential part of any director’s toolkit.

A focus puller is a person who works in a film or television production office, typically as part of the camera operators’ team. They are responsible for pulling the camera tracks to ensure that they are lined up correctly before shooting begins.

Focus pullers will often work on set alongside camera operators, but they do not always have to be on set at the same time. When a scene requires multiple cameras, there may be multiple focus pullers working at once. The focus puller’s role is to make sure that every shot is set up correctly, so that the camera can be focused properly and move smoothly through its various movements.

A focus puller in Thailand is the person who controls a film camera’s focus. He or she will manually move the focus ring on the lens to control how close or far away from the subject you can get.
